Jouichi has been constantly moving and changing schools because of his parent’s work, so he never really made many friends nor had a girlfriend. A few years ago, one of his best friends committed suicide. He never really understood the truth behind it and hoped to solve it one day.

Jouichi and his childhood friend Emi helped out with setting up the grounds, meeting the quiet Kana, lively Hinami and gentle onee-san Yukari. There was also one other thing that occurred at that time. When Emi was showing him how to use the chat program NEEL on his new smartphone, it vibrated as he received a notification message. It was a friend request from their friend who should have been dead.
