Albert, the youngest son of the Orcian noble house, was a kind and honest young man. One day he was notified that he was to be engaged. His fiancées name was Teana. She was the daughter of the former lord of the distant fiefdom of Sheba.

Albert felt anxious because he had never even met Teana, but this was common practice in marriages between nobles.

When Teana and her mother, Lorelia, finally arrived, his worries were instantly blown away. At first sight of the beautiful and dignified Teana, Alberts heart leapt and he became hopeful about a life with her.

Teana, however, was not keen on the engagement. Ever since childhood, she had harbored feelings for another man. A boy who had saved her when she was lost and crying in the town as a child - a boy whose name she had never learned. She had always wished to marry that boy when she grew up.

Moreover, to Teana, who valued chivalry, Albert appeared weak and unreliable, leading her to look down on him.

Lorelia noticed that Albert seemed inexperienced with women his own age and lacked self-confidence. She grew concerned that Albert and Teanas marriage wouldnt work out if things continued as they were.

So Lorelia decided to teach Albert how to treat women, help him gain confidence as a man, and train him so that he could become the "dependable man" that Teana would fall for.
